Auto-Complete Configuration

Suggestion tuning and search assistance settings.

What it includes

Qwik.Select provides assisted discovery while shoppers type, with fast result blocks and configurable suggestion controls.

  • Product, category, and manufacturer suggestions while the user types
  • Handling for Greeklish, typos, and partial terms
  • Loading states, clear button behavior, and history controls where needed
  • Layout and result-depth tuning without changing widget code

Where to configure it

Suggestion behavior is configured from the Studio UI Settings screen.

    Open Studio and choose your site

    In Search Experience, enable or disable suggestions, categories, and manufacturers

    In Results & Ranking, set maximum results and view-all behavior
  5. 5
    Save and publish so the changes reach active sessions

Core controls

Show Suggestions

Turns the suggestion column and related discovery blocks on or off.

Show Categories / Manufacturers

Controls which helper groups appear alongside products.

Maximum Results

Limits how many products appear before the full-results flow takes over.

Loading Indicator

Makes request latency clearer to the shopper while results are loading.

Save Search History

Keeps recent queries available for repeat shoppers.

View All URL

Routes the shopper to a dedicated results page when you want deeper or SEO-friendly search flows.

Practical guidance

  • Keep suggestions enabled when the catalog is large or the product naming is complex.
  • If categories or manufacturers feel noisy, disable those blocks before touching ranking rules.
  • Do not overload the panel with too many suggestions. In most storefronts, 5-8 results is enough.
  • Pair suggestion tuning with clean XML feed data and reliable field mapping. Auto-complete does not fix poor catalog data by itself.
